Joel grew up in a Christian home and responded to the good news of the gospel while attending church camp as a child.  In high school, God continued to draw Joel’s heart to serving Him as he saw people being transformed by the power of the gospel through the ministry of music.  Joel joined the staff of NCC as Worship Pastor in l984.  He credits the mentoring and training of several pastors and Elders with making significant impacts in his life and ministry.  Joel holds a B.A. in Music from Arizona State University.  Joel and his wife, Lisa, were married in 1989 and have two children.
